Western Space Odyssey (2024)
Production design by Maggie Schluth, Grace Caron, Ryan Kretz, and Riley Crandall
This clip is from a mini course I took led by professors Callen Golden and Chrissy Guest. The class focused on character and production design inspired by that of Wes Anderson films. For this particular project, my group was asked to create a character who existed in a western space odyssey story taking place in the 1940s. We adopted a sort of retro futurist aesthetic for the universe in which our character, Judith von Housenburg, exists. In true Wes Anderson style, we recorded a brief top-down shot of Judith tending to her duties on the space train where she works as the conductor.
